I understand how it can affect your breathing, but can't they just fix him up, put some sort of tubes in there to prevent the passage from closing, and let him pitch? I don't see how a nose injury can sideline a pitcher for 2 months. I remember during an AllStar pre-game show when Cal Ripken had his nose broken from I think Jose Mesa (did Mesa actually make an AllStar game?) and they were joking that it would end Ripken's streak. But seriously, wtf happened to him? Did his nose get torn off completely or something?
