EDIT: when the first post in the thread is updated it could be nice to have it in some order like divisions or alphabetical.

that's exactly what I had.

This is a sad sad exercise for a Mets fan...

SS - R. Tejada (R)
2B - J. Turner (R)
3B - D. Wright (R)
1B - I. Davis (L)
RF - L. Duda (L)
LF - J. Bay (R)
CF - A. Torres (S)
C - J. Thole (L)
P

Originally I penciled Duda into the 2-hole (if he continues how he played last year, he belongs there), but Turner spent most of his time in the 2-hole last year, which means Duda could slide down behind Bay, even, if they want to break up the lefties. If they put Torres anywhere near the top of the lineup with his .318 career OBP, I might just sleep through the next three baseball seasons and see where the Mets are at when I wake up. I could see them batting him 8th behind Thole, even. You have to assume Daniel Murphy is going to get plenty of AB as well for Turner/Wright/Davis and I imagine he slides right in the 2-hole when he plays unless Duda actually does find a home there. At any rate, I'd like to see the lineup look more like...

SS - R. Tejada (R)
RF - L. Duda (L)
3B - D. Wright (R)
1B - I. Davis (L)
LF - J. Bay (R)
2B - J. Turner (R)/D. Murphy (L)
C - J. Thole (L)
CF - A. Torres (S)

You think Turner starts over Murphy? Is Murphy still hurt?

I think they split time with Turner getting plenty of time because Murphy is the top backup at both 3B and 1B. Plus with the Mets training staff you've got to assume somebody will be on the 60 day DL pretty soon. I don't see a L/R split because Turner can't his lefties any better than Murph can. It really boils down to just how bad of a butcher they want in the field day to day. I actually think Murph will be considered their 'everyday 2B' but he'll be spending at least one game a week at one of 1B or 3B depending on who is getting a blow.

alright, since it seems like murphy is the one that is going to get every day at bats (at least somewhere), I'm gonna leave him in as the starter at 2B, batting 2nd.

Andres Torres was brutal in 2011 with .312 OBP, but in both 2010 and 2009 each season he had .343 OBP. even with his brutal OBP in 2011 he still did better with BB% in 2011 than any other season.
2011- 10.6
2010- 9.8
2009- 9.4
my initial thought without looking up numbers was that Torres would be near the top of the order. but Tejada and Turner look to be better.
Tejada in 2011 had .360 OBP and Turner n 2011 had .334 OBP.
Turner even has good minor league numbers, with .373 career OBP in 1956 AB.

or now that I actually look up Daniel Murphy's numbers, he could be there over Turner. Murphy in 2011 had .362 OBP. however looking at splits, Murphy had .326/.374/.451/.825 vs RH and .299/.319/.437/.755 vs LH.

doesn't Jason Bay have to be higher? I would say David Wright is 3rd. Mets could follow with LH Davis, but wouldn't it be better to then have RH Bay and then LH Duda?
(every time I see Duda I want to sing all the doo dah day)

Detroit Tigers.
2B. does Ramon Santiago start? or does Ryan Raburn start?
Raburn wasn't that productive in 2011, but he was in 2010 and 2009.

now that Coco Crisp is back in Oakland, where does he fit into the order?
last year he had these numbers in spots..
1. 61 games - .261/.298/.385/.683
2. 45 games - .240/.315/.360/.675
3. 25 games - .312/.356/.398/.754

in the past Crisp has been a leadoff hitter. but I would think Weeks is in that role for 2012. 2011 Weeks, 85 games - .299/.338/.405/.744
