7th Inning Stretch Baseball League
7th Inning Stretch Baseball League is a free 12-team league. Each team will consist of 26 Major League Players and up to 3 Minor League Players. A team’s roster will consist of the following: C, 1B, 3B, 2B, SS, MI, CI, 4 outfielders and 9 pitchers, 4 reserves and up to 3 minor league players, with a 2 player Disabled List.
The Draft will be held on Yahoo, often on the weekend before the MLB season begins. The draft order will be in the reverse order of the standings from the day the 7th Inning regular season ended the previous year.
Each team must keep eight (8) players from their previous season’s final roster. In addition, they may keep a ninth (9th) player, provided that extra player is still considered a rookie by MLB standards (130 at bats or 50 innings pitched), and up to two (2) minor leaguers.
During the draft, the extra (9th) keeper may be chosen with the last pick for the team that owns that player.
Minor League players are defined as any player not on the Yahoo database. Once a player appears on the Yahoo database, the team that owns that player has 30 days to claim him. If the player goes unclaimed he will pass through the waiver process.
A minor league draft is held via e-mail lists. The e-mail lists should be sent to email@example.com
by the end of the weekend of The Draft. There can be no minor league pick-ups after January 1 until the minor league draft is complete.
Yahoo determines all player position eligibility.
The 7th Inning League employs a 6x6 Mixed League Roto format. The categories used for scoring are On Base Percentage, Runs Scored, Runs Batted In, Total Bases, Stolen Bases, Home Runs, Wins, Saves, Holds, Earned Run Average, WHIP and Strikeouts.
Playoffs will begin with 4 weeks remaining in the MLB regular season. Playoffs have a Head-to-Head format. The top 8 teams in the standings enter into a playoff. 1st place vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th, etc. In the following round, the top ranked team faces the lowest ranked team. The winner of the playoff is league champion.
During the playoffs all teams are permitted only one transaction per week.
No trade may take place from two weeks before the draft until the draft. Once The Draft is complete, teams are free to make trades of any kind without limit and without position requirements. There are no limits to the number of trades or transactions a team may make. The season’s trade deadline will be in late August.
All tiebreakers will be decided in the following manner:
1st tiebreaker----total roto points in 4 categories - total bases, RBIs, wins, saves
2nd tiebreaker - total roto points in 6 categories - total bases, RBIs, runs, wins, saves, strikeouts
3rd tiebreaker - total roto points in 8 categories -total bases, RBI's, runs, OBP, wins, saves, strikeouts, ERA
4th tiebreaker --- a one day playoff.
