3 keepers AL only 6 team league (I like to amass 5 in case of injury or trade to NL or league expansion).
Here is my current potential list:
Alex Avila $6
Brett Lawrie $6
Jhonny Peralta $6
ASDRUBAL CABRERA $9
Desmond Jennings $6
CURTIS GRANDERSON $8
Eric Hosmer $6
MICHAEL PINEDA $6
Jordan Walden $6
In all caps are the players I think would be my Top 3, but things can change.
I have an offer on the table to trade Jordan Walden and others (not on the protectable list) and get back:
Mike Trout ($6, $13 in 2013)
Vernon Wells ($7)
Wilson Betemit ($6)
Juan Pierre ($6)
Aaron Crow ($6)
Jason Vargas ($6)
Would any of these players be a better protection than Walden, and would they jump into my Top 5 from above?
I am leaning towards saying no, but what do other people think?

If you believe in Trout, then go for it. Closers are so fleeting that it is ridiculous to count on them. If it were me, I'd definitely go for it. Especially since Trout has that rare combination of power and speed.

I say go for it, you can find closers off the FA practically every year. You can't find talents like Trout on the FA every year.

Trout and Crow make it worth the risk for me.

You only get 3 keepers right? I don't see anyone on the trade list who is a better keeper than Asdrubal, Granderson, or Pineda.

bump. Other thoughts? I could wait it out; our trade deadline is the end of August.
He's now asking for Kevin Gregg instead of Jordan Walden, which makes it more palatable for me.
Are any of the players I am getting back going to potentially jump into my Top 5 keepers if they show something in the next few months?
