Is it time to drop Carpenter? Beachy and Bedard are FA

Postby RoxSox8 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 11:59 pm

I'm in a head to head yahoo redraft and Carp has been hanging on to my final starter spot along with Garza. It is hard to drop Carpenter given his past excellence. Any thoughts are welcomed.

RP- is supposed to be Chris Perez, not Colby Lewis.

I dont know if I would drop Garza, he has great strikeout numbers. But who is N. Perez? I tried searching for a Perez and couldnt find anything.

But are closers very valuable in your league or something? Cause you have a lot of them. So you could potentially drop one of them if you cant work out a trade.

Yes. I don't think Carpenter has it this year. He is aging and the birds are going to take a hit without Pujols. He may lose a couple wins because of it. I thought about trading for him early in the season. Glad the guy rejected them.

I would pick up Beachy assuming he picks up where he left off. If he doesn't you may want to move on.

Beachy has picked up where he left off, his numbers from today were:
Got the win and threw 6 innings 2 BB and 11 K's with a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP
