Crawford for Holiday?

Postby pangbones » Thu Jun 09, 2011 3:51 am

I was offered Holliday and Heyward for Crawford and Mcgehee. Both guys I'm getting are on the DL. And that is my main concern. Heywards shoulder injury scares me a little, and Holliday hasn't been healthy all year. What do u think?

C - V Mart
1B - Votto
2B - Kinsler
SS - A Ramirez
3B - McGehee
OF - Pence, Crawford, Quentin
Util - Ortiz, R Davis
Bench - Belt, Werth, Reynolds, Mauer

DL - Zimmerman, Nathan

SP - Lester, Cain, Marcum, J Chacin, Pineda
RP - Axford, Hanrahan, Storen

Bench - Kuroda, J Zimmerman, Floyd, Porcello, Collmenter

10 Team, 6*6 (OBP and K's for hitters and L's for Pitchers), H2H, Keeper (3 players, at least 1 hitter and 1 pitcher)

I think I would be ok with this deal. Holliday has been hurt but nothing that worries me all that much and I think he can be at least as productive if not better than Crawford for the rest of the season. Heyward is a gamble at this point but I like him a lot more than McGhee.

I don't like it. Holliday is really struggling with injuries this season, and his production is going to suffer a bit upon return because his body is weak from all the time he has spent NOT playing baseball. Heyward was struggling mightily before the injury, had a bad 2nd half last season, and is all about hype. His production is far short of good and you are paying a high price for him here. Crawford has enormous value, and while McGehee has been awful, at least he has played. The Milwaukee team is starting to heat up, and I would hate to miss if McGehee got in on the action. Pass.

The deal is OK but doesn't do all that much to help you IMO. My biggest concern is it forces you to play Reynolds at 3B. Bad as McGhee has been, he's done far less damage to roto teams than has Reynolds thus far.
