Uehara or Mike Adams...whir

Postby misterf » Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:45 pm

I am scrounging for saves in my 5x5 roto league. We have deep bench, so I plan to stash a possible closer-in-waiting and keep my fingers crossed.

Right now, I have Gregg as one of my regular closers. So I have had Uehara stashed as an insurance policy in case Gregg lost his job as Uehara is my current "closer in waiting"

However, Mike Adams...who is a good prospect since Bell may get available on the waiver wire right now.

So, who is the better prospect for save.....Uejara or Adams?
Does it make a difference that Uehara is a hand-cuff for my Gregg?

thanks in advance.....of course, WHIR

It's really a toss up which one will get more save opportunities this year since Bell is more likely to be traded, but Gregg is more likely to lose his closer's gig outright. So in my view, you might as well go with the stronger guy statistically, and that's Adams -- he's the better pitcher if he can get a shot.

Have you looked at Izzy on the mets?

he's been good enough for me to add on my team (we count holds, though he did blow a save a couple of nights ago) and i'm figuring on keeping him...krod is on a SEVERE pitch count (like, wilpon will have to pay him 16 mil or something if he goes over 55 innings, and i don't know if you've heard, but wilpon isn't made of moolah these days).

among the sports beat bloviators i've perused the consensus is that krod gets dealt to someone who needs a setup man and izzy gets the closing job AND finishes up on the team he started on to boot. pretty spiffy, hunh? it's all just conjecture though; another log on the fire for thought.

plus uehera got put on the DL earlier this season for depression...not a crappy play at the plate broken bone; depression.
Adams it is, if i could only choose those two.

mine too?
