Ryan Vogelsong... sleeper

I am new to the board so I dont know if anyone has talked about Vogelsong. Supposedly he is the favorite to win the 4th starters job at Pitt. He is throwing around 96 97 and looking great. With Pitt moving Perez to the 5th starter I think this guy could be a solid backup for teams in deep leagues with a lot of potential to be very good.

A couple other deep deep sleepers this year are Dan Wright and Jeff Damico... My league has 14 teams and we all start 9 pitchers ... closers and starters ... almost no middle relievers. These guys are on my bench but all have potential for nice starters and could be used when going 2 times...

I agree with the earlier post. With 14 teams, and probably 2 closers on every team, that leaves you 98 SP's to place on the 14 rosters. With 30 ML teams, you really shouldn't have to go much beyond a #3 starter, and certainly not #5's from the Clevelands & Pittsburghs of the world . . . . :-?

Vogelsong was a great pick in my 18 team, 30 player league...

I think hes a good pick in a deep league, maybe keeper league
and maybe NL-Only leagues

This is a very deep league... and to have pitchers who have a chance to be decent on your bench is a positive... I watched Vogelsong tonight against cincy and he has good stuff... he had 5 Ks after 2 1/3 and I think ended up with 8 in 7innings. His D let him down a couple times to give up some unearned runs but he looks pretty good.
