Deal Votto?

Postby erjohnson1 » Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:19 pm

I Give
Joey Votto, 1B (CIN)
Elvis Andrus, SS (TEX)
Ian Kennedy, P (ARI)

I Get
Adam Dunn, 1B/OF (CHIWS)
Jose Reyes, SS (NYM)
Clayton Kershaw, P (LA)

First off I'm just considering this. I feel like my staff is pretty weak and I'm lacking in power. Plus I'm really regretting taking Andrus due to his super low OPS and the surplus of speed that I already have. I'd be taking a big hit in strike outs adding Dunn but would get a decent upgrade in HRs and RBIs with the addition of Dunn and Reyes since Andrus hit 0 last year. Plus I'd get a second ace with Kershaw. Due you think he'd accept this and do you think I should offer?

My Team:
C - Carlos Santana (CLE)
1B - Joey Votto (CIN)
2B - Robinson Cano (NYY)
3B - Ryan Zimmerman (WAS)
SS - Elvis Andrus (TEX)
OF - Andre Ethier (LA)
OF - Andrew McCutchen (PIT)
OF - Matt Kemp (LA)
UTIL - Billy Butler (KC)
SP - Jon Lester (BOS)
SP - Mat Latos (SD)
SP - Carlos Marmol (CHICUB)
SP - Hiroki Kuroda (LA)
SP - Daniel Hudson (ARI)
SP - Jhoulys Chacin (COL)
SP - Ian Kennedy (ARI)
RP - Joe Nathan (MIN)
RP - Brett Myers (HOU)

I have J.Votto in my Keeper League.

I would maybe do this trade.

Votto is 1 of the top 5 batters. At least he was last year. A.Dunn is a downgrade...but provides great power.

You would probably be getting an upgrade in J.Reyes over E.Andrus.

You would be getting a major upgrade with C.Kershaw.

Losing Votto stings a ton...but you would be gaining in the other 2 aspects of this trade and thus maing your team better.

No. You don't wind up with the best player in the trade.

I would stay put

Dunn is messing with your .AVG, your P looks fine and Andrus: two games = 3 R, 3 RBI, .444 BAVG, .500 OBP - looking good right now...
It would be nice to know what you did with our advice - so please write a short reply
