Help please. Rolen and Wallace for Beltran?

Postby ECG77 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 4:56 pm

I'm being offered Carlos Beltran and throw away player of my choice for Scott Rolen and Brett Wallace. Beltran is coming off the DL.

Is it a risky deal?

Beltran plays in a gigantic park and has a degenerate knee. Even when Beltran was fully healthy, he only had 10 HR halfway through the season at Shiti Field in 09. I would be very wary trading for him.

I'm leery of Beltran too, but Wallace is trash. It wouldn't surprise me if his final line was under .250/.300. Still, you'd be trading away two starting positions in your lineup for only one, and an injury risk at that. Hard to approve that deal without know the throw away player, and whether that player would actually get regular at bats.
