who should my next pick be?

Postby misterf » Fri Mar 25, 2011 2:55 am

10-team keeper league....5x5 standard roto

We are in the middle of our "slow draft".....I am on deck.....but it wont be my turn to pick until some time tomorrow morning.

here is my team so far:

c: M. Napoli
1b: P. Konerko
2b: B. Phillips
3b: A- Rod
SS: T. Tulowitzki
of: C. Crawford
of: J. Hamilton
of: J. Upton
ut: J. Bautista
bench: B. Butler
bench: M. Young

sp: T. Lincicum
sp: Y. Gallardo
sp: S. Marcum
sp: J. Danks
sp: M. Garza

rp: J. Broxton
rp: D. Storen
rp: L. Nunez

So I have my starters and top bench players in place......now it is time to start looking for those late round gems.

Here are the top guys on my cheetsheet.....please help me figure out who to target (it will be another 16 picks before it will be my turn again, so i need to make this one count):

Top prospect type guys:

sp: E. Jackson
sp: B. Matusz
sp: Jhoulys Chacin
ss: Starlin Castro

Speedy Outfielders

of: A. Pagan
of: A. Jackson
of: D. Span
of: Raj. Davis

Closers

rp: J. McGee
rp: F. Francisco

Old but consistent guy

sp: H. Kuroda

Thanls in advance......of course, WHIR

I would say Rajai Davis would help cement your speed. If you want slightly more all around then Austin Jackson is a solid pick. One of those guys...

Your roster is pretty much full anyways, so I think I'd go more for upside here with the SPs. Speed guys are really only helpful with Roto if you have them more permanently in your lineup IMO, so I'd go with Chacin. I don't think you need another SS, so if not Chacin, I'd go with Pagan.

Help with mine? (stuff updated in the later posts) viewtopic.php?f=26&t=424807, thanks!

Thanks for the help with mine. I see two ways that I would go.

First off would be Castro to add a back up at a shallow position who has upside and you may be able to swap him later on to a SS starved team or someone who is a Cubs fan. The other would be to add another SP - I like Chacin as well and Matusz looks like he has the talent to be a nice solid SP. You have a number of SP guys on the list, so the possibility of one of them lasting until your next pick is higher than Castro - I would still be tempted to go ahead and grab Chacin here.
