Pick up Beachy? WHIR

Postby saemick » Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:44 pm

with Beachy all but secured the 5th spot in ATL, I'm considering picking him up as a nice upside guy. that being said, should I drop:

Jeremy Guthrie (SP - BAL)
James McDonald (SP - PIT)
Mike Moustakas (3B - KC)

this is a 14-team H2H league with a 5-man bench. Initially I was leaning to holding Moustakas, but with him being reassigned and a short bench,I'm not sure he's really worth owning.

thoughts?

I can't say that I'm familiar with Beachy aside from hearing that he won the fifth spot in Atlanta's rotation (much to the chagrin of Minor owners everywhere!).

However, if this isn't a deep keeper/dynasty league I don't see a reason to hold onto Moustakas as the Royals delay his service clock in the minors for a while. I'd make the swap and see how Beachy performs.

Who is the rest of your team. I do not see either guy having a ton of value this year.

Non-keeper league? Drop Moustakas. If it is a keeper league, then Moustakas might be worrth holing on to since 3B is so weak, especially in a 14-team league. I 'd drop Guthrie on the hopes that Beachy would be better long term.
