Which trade?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Sun Jan 09, 2011 5:03 pm

Dynasty league where each owner owns an entire real franchise for example I have the New York Yankees. The league has a 100 dollar salary cap and I am currently 6 million over the cap and looking to drop some players to get under the cap and be able to bid on free agents. I made some moves so far to get to this point. It is a points league but I will leave the details out of it for now since all I want to know is if I should do the following deals.

Deal 1: Cano, Teix, Gardner for David Price, BJ Upton, Zobrist, Dan Johnson
Deal 2: Teix, Gardner, lesser starter(not sure who yet) for Shields, Alex Torres, BJ Upton, Zobrist, Dan Johnson
Deal 3: Cano, Russo, Banuelos, Flores for Neil Walker, Jose Tabata, Evan Meek, 2 prospects
Deal 4: Cano for Austin Jackson and Max Scherzer

Any of these deals look appealing? They all get me under the cap. Keep in mind I traded some big names already but still have ARod, Cano, Teix, Granderson, Gardner, CC, Rivera, etc. trying to keep a nucleus while attaining some cheaper talent. What do you guys think? Thanks and leave your links.

I really like the deal in which you obtain Neil Walker, Tabata and prospects. Do you have an idea of which prospects? You should see if you can obtain Alvarez and find out if prospects are players like Tailon, or Sanchez. I know you lose Cano, but his price is high and you should get good solid production out of Walker and Tabata and may flourish with the prospects you end up with.

I like deal 2. Not sure I like you trading Cano. Do you have someone that can replace him? I figure you can find a replacement for Tex easier than it will be to replace Cano. On top of that you get a bunch of guys who could have good years. Upton, Zobrist and Shields all have the talent to put up better numbers than last year.

I like deal No. 2 for you. I would have a hard time moving a stud in Cano from a thin position. Will be much easier to find a suitable replacement for Tex vs. Cano as previously stated.

Thanks for your help on mine!

I don't like either of those deals. I don't think you get enough in return.

New Offers:

Upton, Bartlett, Shields, Dan Johnson, Zobrist for Teix, Cano, Nunez

or

Upton, Zobrist, Bartlett,Shields, Youk, Torres(prospect) for Teix, Cano, Granderson

I am thinking I can't give up Granderson in the same deal as the others. What do you guys think?

I agree with not trading Cano, he is great at a Nicole Richie thing position. That being said I like the prospect deal for you, you have the Yankees as your organization and will still have most of the main parts if you do the prospect trade!

Thanks for the help on mine!
