Is this enough for Braun?

Postby petachi » Mon Nov 15, 2010 3:52 pm

14 team MLB fantasy league
7 keepers
C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, OF, OF, OF, UT
5 SP, 4 RP, 2 P
HR, RBI, SB, TB, AVG, OBP
W, L, SV, ERA, WHIP, QS, K

Current keepers would be:
Youk
Pedroia
Jeter
M. Young
Stubbs
Braun
Oswalt

Borderline keepers are:
Gardner
CJ Wilson
R. Soriano
C. Marmol

The league allows trading and such during the offseason including draft picks so idea is to boil down to very strong 7 keepers by then but not too bad to have "trade bait" type extra players right now since a long time before 2011 opening day.

Anyhow, the offer is:

Braun + 5th round pick (#66 overall)

for

Reyes + Rasmus

I'm very tempted to do this as I wouldn't mind a Jeter upgrade (although I don't think he's washed up just yet) and I think Rasmus alone has the potential to give me a lot of what Braun will. My main concern would be lack of playing time for Rasmus possibly or another injury to Reyes.

Thoughts?

big Braun fan so maybe I'm biased but I wouldn't give up your best player for help at the lower end of your final 7. I'd need someone closer to Brauns first round value to do this :-t
When asking for roster advice in these pages, remember there are thousands of different sets of league rules & many different active roster settings. If you want the best replies, be sure to include your leagues particulars in the original post

I wouldn't do this either, but if you feel the urge, at least get a 1st of 2nd round pick in return.

This deal is no good for you. Rasmus has the potential but he also has a manager that benched him for no real good reason and when the Cards were in a pennant race. Reyes is a good upgrade over Jeter but if I was making a deal to get a SS, I would look at one of the top guys not mid-tier one that has past hamstring issues.

No deal. Even if you don't have to give up the draft pick....no deal. To many questions for the 2 players your getting IE manager not playing Rasmus and Reyes's health? Seems someone is trying to buy low on you.

Piling on but, I agree with the crowd. Braun is way to valuable to deal him for Reyes.
