2011 MLB season starts Fri ends on a Wed?

Is what the Cubs announcers were saying. Going to create some h2h interesting decisions. They said they were doing it that way so the playoffs would start earlier & not finish in November

So the first h2h week is an extra 3 days long and the championship week is an extra 3 days long. I don't see what the problem is. :-S
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Same here...or you just don't count the last 3 days of the year. No big deal.

Reds guys saying same thing, would be good for attendence for that normally weak drawing 2nd game played on a Saturday instead of a Tuesday or Wed. It'll be interesting to see how the different sites set up their schedules. Blowing off the last 3 games where alot of playoff-bound teams are resting stars probably good way to go
