RIP Ernie Harwell

FYI, did you know he was traded from the Brooklyn Dodgers to the Tigers for a backup catcher? You have to be a pretty friggin good announcer to get traded for a player. And he was.

Ernie Harwell is the only reason I survived the 90s as a Tigers fan. Huge loss for the baseball world. RIP Ernie.

So many memories, so many stories. We will miss you Ernie. :,-(

Just one quick story, the year that he was fired, I went to about 15-20 games, one of the games me and my friends went to and made a point of going to was the last home game of the season. We sat in the bleachers of Old Tiger Stadium. For the final inning, someone brought out a big radio and we all turned our back to the field and just sat and listened to him call the game. Great moment ;-D
