Spot Pitching thread 2010

Postby sadlyajetsfan » Sat Apr 10, 2010 11:30 am

I always see one every year and haven't this year, if there is one already I apologize. I feel like spot pitching is pretty important and figure we can all help each other out. I'll start it off

4/10 - Hammel
They are playing at home against the Padres. They seem to be lost hitting wise right now and even at Colorado I don't expect much from them. There's a good chance Hammel ends up with the win here while picking up a few K's. He's going up against decent competition in Latos pitching wise, he is my spot pitcher for tomorrow who I am picking up.

4/10 - Moyer
This one is pretty risky, but he is facing an abysmal Astros lineup along with a less than stellar starter in Paulino. This should be another win, would be shocked if it wasn't. I see a bit of risk in picking him up in H2H since we haven't seen anything from him yet, but he supposedly came into the season looking good considering he didn't get much ST time in. I think the Phillies are showing faith in him, giving him the final spot in the rotation. I'm sure a lot of that had to do with them wanting another lefty in there, but I don't see him as a bad start.
