I have not seen Blanks this year, but I have watched Bruce. I've seen him hit a couple of hot shots right to defenders. I'm not worried about him. Not qualified to talk about Blanks.
Thanks to Super Manny for the sig!

I agree 100% with this assessment. Bruce is MUCH better at this point. Bruce has a chance to finish the 2010 campaign as a top 50 player (maybe even Top 25), whereas Blanks will be lucky to crack the top 150!

He has the bigger ceiling.

He was tearing up the upper level of the minor leagues at 20 yrs old.

I'd take Bruce due to better park, better lineup, and the fact that he's now a few years into his big league career. Seems like there's a better chance for things to "click" with him than Blanks who only has 150 or so AB's.

Dude, it's three games. Come on!

Three games doesn't matter at all, but consider how little insight we have on Blanks it isn't comforting. Right now they have to be debating on switching him out of the 5 spot if he doesn't begin to perform. If this happens you can say goodbye to a lot of his value. All I want from him in the next 3 games is some sign of discipline. I know the power is there, but it doesn't help when he can't make contact. I wouldn't be as worried about Bruce, but am very worried about Blanks. He was a last round pick for me so it wouldn't be the end of the world to drop him for Strasburg though, very tempting.

I remember when Ryan Braun first came up, I got him with my waiver in my keeper league. A couple days later the Brewers were playing the Cubs on WGN in an afternoon game so if I left it on maybe I'd get a chance to catch him. I remember thinking that he looked baaaaad in the one AB I got to see.!/baseballcafe
