He's talented. But more real life talent than fantasy talent.

Get ready to eat it, cause it'll go down this year. Baker won 15 games and had 162 K's in 09'. Not sure what people do not like about Baker? Was it him going 12-3 past June 1st with a 3.20 era? Was it him going 11-4 in 170 IP in not quite a full season in 2008? This guy will win 18-20 soon guys and have about a 3.40 to boot, I say it's this year.

I like Baker just fine. He is just not ending up on my teams because people are reaching for him relative to my projection and ADP data compared with other similar-tiered pitchers who excite me more (nice run-on sentence)...and who I can draft 2 -3 rounds later. Baker is a good pitcher.

If Baker didn't suck the first month and go on the DL, he would surpassed 15W and 170K. I love Baker.

when do you draft Baker?
according to the MDR his ADP is round 12 going as early as round 9.
do you pick him before round 9?

I went ahead and snagged Baker in late round 10 which I think is not too bad. I would not go get him before round 10 though

He was taken 90th overall, in my last draft. I have no problems with it. 9th round is probably ideal.

I completely agree. He throws strikes and has a nice whip, but his stuff is not overpowering and his K/9 leaves something to be desired. I've ended up with guys like Liriano, Floyd, Slowey (who I see as a very similar pitcher to Baker), etc. a little later.

Exactly , the guy is solid but ppl shouldn't be touting him like a potential cy young winner
