I'm not trying to be difficult either. Just trying to get things rolling. So we're keeping the final last bids and ignoring my resets? That's fine with me.

Bids made on Yahoo, unfortunately, are not legitimate. Too many problems with that in principle based on the constitution (how to compare validity of a Cafe bid with a yahoo bid?).

Looks like I missed all the excitement. Is it safe to assume that I got Frieri at $3?

Just put in a bid with what I believe are my remaining discretionary funds on Johnson based on what I think just happened concerning this round's mix-up. My apologies if I'm only adding to the confusion. ;-D

Should have 4 Schrute bucks left for 4 players.

I think your bid is an hour late. I could be wrong.

I just thought I should check in here to make sure everybody's happy with the way things worked out re the last round's confusion. For my part, I just tossed in my bids on Frieri and my first bid on Johnson and then went off to pull an all-nighter setting up spreadsheet's for my sabermetric pool. So I missed all the chat concerning how to deal with the site being down. I just hope that I got Frieri fairly.

Also, I think I'm OK timewise with my $4 bid on Johnson. Lebo's bid is Friday 4:33 PM and mine is Saturday 10:10 AM. I think I'm reading that right? :-S

Quick notes on the round decision:
-- Unfortunately, I was only able to check in on the discussion (at work) pertaining to the issue at hand so I wasn't aware of resets that had been done or not. I was making my decision on the principles of the issue at hand.

-- The situation was that bids were made, then the cafe went down, so people weren't able to make bids. Then the cafe went back up.

So, decision-wise, here's what I had to take into account:

1. Bids were made on the cafe forum officially by several owners. There's no legitimate way, by my reading, to erase those bids.
2. It would be unreasonable to assume that posts made on the Yahoo league would be read by everyone. If I bid $3 on a player, but another owner upped it to $4 on that Yahoo site -- how should I be expected to know? Push comes to shove, the cafe bid stands.
3. The least radical move is probably best. The cafe goes down for a day, so we extend the time for a day. Contrast that move with using the Yahoo league site, plus resetting bids, plus extending time, etc. -- too complicated. Stretches the rules too much.
4. The good thing is, I've got no "skin in the game." I'm done bidding, so you can be assured I've got no other motive than keeping this as clean as possible. No matter what, you could argue that one decision favors owners X,Y,&Z, while another decision favors owners A,B,&C.

Hope that helps.

EDIT:
Additionally, here's an example of what I mean about why a reset could be principally problematic:

Before the Cafe going down:
Owner A starts a thread @ $1
Owner B bids $2
Owner A bids $3
Owner C jumps in and bids $4.

Then... the cafe goes down, and we hypothetically reset all bids to $1
Bid resets to $1
Owner B bids $4 as soon as possible.

So in this scenario... Owner C gets screwed when he had a legitimate bid before the reset. If I were Owner C, I'd be looking really hard at the league rules as to how I don't have a right to the player I previously won.

So now begins (at least for me) the lightning round where we try to get our $1 nomination in before the others who have no money. :-D

Thanks for the clarification Boomer.
