The guy has been an absolute dog (especially the last month or so).
Any reason to use him the rest of this year over other hot bats such as Seth Smith, Pagan, etc? (not those guys specifically, but really any hot OF bats in general)

I know this might belong in a different section, but with football here this is the only one getting any baseball play.

I just dropped him for Rajai Davis. Add his occasional benching to the fact that he's been terrible and he's definitely not worth it for the rest of the year IMO.

Very sad. He was one of my keepers a couple of years back. However he never has fulfilled his ultimate promise. He might be good to keep because Jermaine Dye looks likes he is leaving town but don't expect him to carry your team!

If you can, right now, in playoff mode, if he is hurting your team and you got the room, drop him and stream the position with hot bats.

Just checked his last month stats...wow.

.183 BA, .505 OPS, 5 R, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1 SB, and in 82 at bats.
Micah Owings would be crushing this dude if given that many at bats :-D

I remember Rios had a great end to the season in '08, but not sure I can justify putting this guy in my lineup anymore.

I'm not sure how a player so talented has a month so bad. Laziness? Apathy? He just plain sucks? Either way, he's really ruined the OF in one of my leagues this season.

when the Jays just let this guy walk i was disappointed and somewhat upset, that the Jays could let someone walk who has so much potential.. but maybe the Jays made the right decision.

at this point even in a deep league its not worth holding onto Rios.

It's the same every year except worse this season. Rios is year in and year out one of (if not the) most overdrafted players in fantasy.

Yeah he may have been overrated but there's a big difference between previous years and this. No comparison. He used to be a contributor and now he's a liability.

I've said it over and over and had guys bash me for it.But I'm saying it again. OVERRATED !!!!!!
Guys like him and Markakis get picked long before they should. Sooooo many other options that put up better numbers and can be had later or for less in an auction.

Agreed.
I think that can be said for the OF position in general. I know there is late value at every position, but seems like OF more than anything.
