Cheap SB's for the stretch run

Postby West » Tue Aug 25, 2009 7:05 am

I'm in a dead heat with a month to go and I need some steals help that I can plug in from time to time in Sept. Eric Young and Drew Stubbs come to mind and I've managed to stash Stubbs but missed the boat on Young. Anyone got any ideas for Sept callups or free agents who are going to be running?

E Cab is my pick of the bunch. He's been great since I picked him up a few weeks ago.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

evereth cabrera or rajai davis would be my picks if they aren't already owned. escobar was great in the minors but hasn't stolen much in the majors yet, so my verdict is still out on him.

Eric Patterson
Jason Bourgeous
Julio Borbon
Michael Brantley
Justin Maxwell
Desmond Jennings

Are all guys not mentioned that should steal some bases if they get PT. Most of them are long shots to see any significant PT though.

Eric Young just got called up. Might put up some decent SB numbers. Had 58 SB in the minors. Any thoughts on what his out look is in the majors?

If you need steals I would grab E Young now. Looks like he'll play OF and 2B (probably ~4-5 days/week) and could steal 15 bases before the end of the year...

He'll fill in for Fowler and Cargo for a week or two I'd think. He could have 10 maybe
I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment
