Beckett/Hawpe for Beltran/Liriano in a keeper? WHIR

Postby Carey Saders » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:56 am

I'll make this short. I'm in dead last in a 12-team H2H dynasty league. It's all about the keeper's for me. We count BB and HOLDS. Can keep 8. If I made this trade, I'd be keeping Beltran instead of Beckett.

C - Wieters
1B - Pujols
2B - Stewart
3B - Gordon
SS - Reyes / Escobar
OF - Bruce
OF - Adam Jones
OF - Hawpe
Util - Garrett Jones

SP - Beckett
SP - Hamels
SP - Nolasco
SP - Scherzer
SP - Hanson
SP - Webb
SP - Brett Anderson

RP - Valverde
Thanks to Super Manny for the sig!

I would hesitantly do the trade. You have alot of good young pitching, Beckett is unnecessary especially since the way your lineup is now you will not be contending for a year or two.

The issues with the trade is with Liriano, I would rather have a better younger prospect then him. He is just not the same pitcher after those surgeries.

Beltran works because he should come back healthy next year and if you fallout of contention will make great trade bait.

So my advice would be to counter for someone better long term then Liriano. The younger the better and based on your roster it doesn't need to be a pitcher.
