i wanted to see how he did at Texas before starting him in any hitters parks...i think i may gamble and start him @ Chi next week

Decided to roll the dice with him at Arlington last nite and was OK with the result. 6.2 IP 3H 3ER 3BB 9K. Nine Ks ! ... he had 0 in his previous outing! O:-)

benching him this week for sole reason of playing the odds, but will give him another start next week. got to hang in there with young A's pitchers a little longer then most, they know how to breed 'em.

Again, at least short term. Outman has a pretty good ceiling. Anderson and Blackburn have pretty limited upsides because they aren't overpowering. Outman can get up to 95-96 and regularly throws over 92 as a lefty...he's got a chance to be a K per inning type of guy if he continues to improve. Now his floor is lower than Anderson or Blackburn so there is a chance he could fall flat but Outman is top notch when he is going well...but he does need to continue to improve.

I picked him up for his 2 start week next week, we will see. I like his stat line over the past few starts and vs. Min and @ SF aren't too scary of starts. Run support is probably his achilles heal!
