Anyone know if this Oakland A's SP is legit? He's been pitching great this past month, and I need another starter in my AL-only league.

One of the few guys I've seen recently who has come up and walked fewer guys in the Major Leagues than he did in the Minors. This season he's right around his Minor League career BB/9 number, but still better. If he keeps not walking people he's going to continue having success. With the pitching factory that Oakland seemingly possesses, this is a guy I'm definitely making room for where I have deep enough benches. Sitting him tomorrow in Arlington, but I think he's a guy you can start more often than not, at least for the time being.

I grabbed him. As mentioned above, his control has been outstanding in the bigs, which makes up for his rather pedestrian K numbers (31 in 40.1IP). I will be benching him today, but with his control, I expect him to be at the very least, serviceable in deep and AL-only leagues.

I would say that is better than pedestrian. Should be a guy to keep tabs on.

I mentioned him a week or two ago in the super sleeper thread. This is a lefty with a 92-95mph fastball....his strike rate took a hit his last time out because he didn't strike anyone out...otherwise he was getting close to a K per inning. Today he just added 9 more to the total so he'll get up there as long as he can keep his command going.

I'm not trying to be an a-hole or anything, but that made me laugh.

Would you rather have Outman or Brett Anderson?

Outman, at least for the short term anyway.
