I'm curious........who's going to protect him? Dye? I don't see anyone on that lineup that can protect him. Now when he's on a different team next year, his stock should go back up. For this year gimme Rolen.

That's just what I was going to say. And also, there are talks in Oakland about Chavez agreeing to a long-term deal. Yikes for Chavez owners

He's in a terrible lineup (one of the worst in baseball) and also in one of the worst hitters parks. He can't hit lefties. Righties will pitch around him and face the rest of their lineup who couldn't intimidate a 4th-in-the-rotation little leaguer.
Rolen has Pujols, Renteria, and Edmonds batting around him, and is a much better option.
Chavez will be the 4th best 3B this season behind A-Rod, Rolen, and Lowell - assuming he can hold off Blalock. He's over-rated
