I haven't looked at the stats, but Ender wasn't disagreeing with you...he was simply pointing out the arbitrary nature of your analysis. It makes zero sense to make that comparison...are you taking out the best month of every other 2B when you're compiling those statistics? I doubt it...and even that would be pretty pointless, although it would even the playing field a bit.

Use his avg stats except the month of Sept/Oct and he had a bad year, period.

Use Ryan Howard's average stats except Sept/Oct and he's Jack Cust.

If you take out the August he had a really good 2008. He had 2 great months, 2 bad months and 2 mediocre months.

Ok lets take out his Sept/Oct and his August, so his best and worst months.

.270 avg, 9 HR, 9 SB, 57 R, 43 RBI in 409 PA

Prorate those numbers to his final season stats. .270 AVG, 14 HR, 14 SB, 86 R, 65 RBI. So if you take out his best month+ and worst month he loses .017 AVG, 0 R, 4 RBI while gaining 2 HR and 3 SB. You are grasping at straws here.

Use David Price's average stats minus September, and he doesn't exist!

Looks like it's about that time. For the past week, KJ's been making good contact with the ball. Check. A couple of days ago, Escobar hit leadoff with Johnson 6th, and Johnson got 3 hits and a SB. Check. Yesterday, he came in mid-game and jacked one that was knocked down at the wall by a stiff wind. Check. Infante broke his hand, and for the 2nd time in 3 games, Johnson is batting 6th. Is it warm in here?

Any idea if he'll get the start against LHP Davis today? He's been hot lately so maybe Cox will ease up on the platooning.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

I would think this would be the easiest choice for Cox to make with KJ being one of those odd 'better against LHP than RHP' left-handed hitters. Plus he's 3/6 in his career vs Doug Davis. Then again, if you throw out the months that those stats came from...oh hell, I'm keeping my nose out of that.
