There are obviously financial implications to keeping him in the minors and slowing down the his big league service time, at the same time, in the ultra competitive AL East, as soon as the feel like he'll pass super 2 status time, I'd imagine he'll get a rotation spot (namely Niemann's). Like I said, just speculation. If the Rays were a team that didn't feel like they could win, I'd be more concerned about him sitting down there longer, but being that they should be in the AL East hunt again this year, I wouldn't be that concerned, definitely stash. Good start in AAA.

I hesitated to discuss his arbitration clock ticking because I don't know all the aspects of it, but I do know that it is different if guys are called up after roster expansions, and I believe that was the case with Price last year. I also believe that the clock stops ticking if a guy gets sent back down, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I know that there are cafe members that know much more about the arbitration process then I, and I hope they'll respond to this thread.chargerss24 wrote:But since Price pitched last year briefly for Tampa Bay, isn't his arbitration clock already ticking?
