Perfect League (IMHO)

Just thought Id share our league settings and makeup with everyone --you might see something you like and want to incorporate in your own in the future. Im always open to try new ideas so feel free to give me some.

Format -- H2H weekly scoring
Scoring -- Std 10 categories
12 teams -- two divisions Winners and Losers - Each year the top three teams from last year form Winners Div
and bottom three form losers division.
Schedule -- 21 weeks reg season you play each team in your div 3 times play each team other division once.
This eliminates the "unbalanced" schedule where some get stuck playing top teams while others get
bottom feeders.
Playoffs -- 5 weeks Division winners get bye first week 2nd and 3rd play each other in one week series
Winner plays div champ in two week series and survivors play two week series for league championship.
We have found that the two week format takes out some of the "luck". Usually a div champ wins but
not always. Last year was first year neither div champ made it to World Series.

Roster -- 25man + 3 DL slots

"Semi -Keeper" Each year you may keep one player who you drafted previous year in the 11th rd or later
or free agent pick up during year. That player must be on your roster as of MLB trading deadline. You only keep
that player one year then he returns to pool.

Pickups can be made during week up to max of 28 roster spots. So if you had no one on DL you could
carry 3 additional players during week but you must be down to 25man active roster by start of next scoring
period .
Anyone picked up during scoring period MUST be on active 25 man roster for following week --deters churning
blocking other players.

Fees Cost of league entry fee + cost of draft board
$115 per team to prize fund
$1 for each free agent pick up
$2 for each trade per team

Transactions usually avg around $450-475

Payoffs Dont remember exactly but div winners get $250 each 1st over all gets like 300 # all transaction fees
2nd gets around 200 and less for 3rd and fourth
It changes each year because we raise entry fee $10 a year

Any suggestions to improve? Thinking about doing something with waiver system.

League make up is from 32yrs old to 69yrs old with live draft its a great league.
