Is LaRussa on crack?? Is he really going to continue sitting one of the hottest hitters in the leage (with a proven track record) every 3rd day so he can get a rookie hitting .250 with 1 extra base hit AB's? I think it might be time for Tony to start thinking about retirement.

In my opinion, Ludwick earned the right to play everyday based on his performance last year and what he's done so far this year.

Rasmus, while certainlly a good prospect and all, hasn't earned that yet, and if anything, should be splitting time with Duncan or Ankiel.

La Russa claims that he will settle on a more permanent OF by May. Not sure what will change between now and then, but if it means Ludwick will be the everyday guy as a result - then fine. Ideally, the Cardinals need to trade one of their OFs.

what he said.

yes. most definitely.

i can kind of see TLR's point in that he wants to get at bats for everyone. duncan is hot right now. it would hurt colby's development if he rotted on the bench. ankiel is not going to bust out of his slump while he is riding the pine. still, i don't know how you justify giving ludwick days off right now.
