12 team 5x5 roto - WHIR

Post by avsfan4ever33 »

I just drafted my team in a 12 team, 5x5 roto league that is fairly deep. How's it look?

C - Pudge
1B - Delgado
2B - Casilla
3B - Youk
SS - Furcal
CI - Mora
MI - Escobar
OF - Hamilton, Beltran, Maggs, Choo, Drew
UTIL - Kubel, Winn
BN - Teahen, Schumaker

SP - Halladay, Billingsley, Burnett
RP - Broxton, Valverde, Wood
P - Morrow, Lindstrom, Garza
BN - U-Ball, Pelfrey, Volstad

Leave your link and I'll do my best to help you. :-D

Looks pretty good. Don't have that monster home run guy.

Pudge/delgado are too old for my tastes but both are capable of one more good year.

I really like Valvarde, he was a closer I targeted and just missed out on in my draft.

Billingsly/halladay are two really solid guys, burnett scares me.

Check mine out

I took Pudge in the last round; I generally never take a catcher until then. I'll likely be riding the hot hand if he goes cold during the season. Delgado was a bit of a panic move as 1B were going off the board fast and I'd already lost a few from my queue. Valverde will give me heart attacks but still seems like a nice closing option. I also reached on Burnett a bit, but I think he's in for a big year.

must be fairly deep, going off that i think its a well rounded squad... i wouldn't be concerned bout Gado, they are still gonna hit him at a spot where he will produce... like the OF combo of Hamilton/Beltran/Maggs thats a stud OF, covers all stats, nice job... Casilla im hoping was a late late round pick, but he is one of my big sleepers do like him... your extra INF spots were covered very nicely...now on to the what i think is the best part of your team, your pitching... a 1/2/3 of Halladay/Bills/AJ is studly, im not at all worried about Burnett, i also think hes in for a very big year coming off of last year, and yes hes in NY, but at least he has CC with him taking some of the spot light off him...you have crazy depth at RP, especially if Morrow does now close for Seattle, in that case i would think about trading one in a package to upgrade maybe your 2B, or even Util spot... i think with a couple moves to upgrade a couple spots you will make it far.. nice team with no real holes...

help me out...

Your team should be playoff-bound if all goes well. With that said, I'd still look out for alternatives during the season on your OF4 and OF5 options since there's (obviously) a big drop-off. I like your bench hitting options since they can be plugged in just about everywhere.

your catcher/infield looks kinda weak for a 12 team league, your OF is great and pitching is excellent.

please comment on mine?

Thanks for the opinions guys - I got Casilla in the 21st round; second base options were limited but I'd like to see what he can do over a full season. I'll defiantly be looking to trade a closer for an upgrade elsewhere as well.
