ya but they don't play SS do they.
Positional scarcity is a suckers bet, you can always find value at every position, never draft a guy just because he is a SS, especially in the 1st round. You want to reach on a mid tier SS like Drew or Hardy or Peralta because you are afraid you won't get one that is fine but if the only reason you are drafting Reyes top 5 is because he is a SS you are making a mistake.
you seem to forget Reyes stole almost 80 the year before last. but he's trending down in SBs with age???? Please.....they guy is 25 entering his prime. To think he doesn't have potential to eclipse 80SB's is simply delusional.
He is being smarter about stealing like most players do with age. You should expect his SB to slowly decline but with better success rates. Look at the great basestealers out there for a few examples. 25 is 'old' for a base stealer.
Henderson 130 at age 23, 108 at 24, 66 at age 25, 80 at 26
Raines - 90 at age 23, 75 at 24, 70 at 25/26, 50 or less by 27.
Coleman - 110, 107, 109 and then at age 26 he fell to 81 and then 65.
Reyes most likely has seen his peak year in SB at this point.
