Team revamped after Rollins trade- WHIR!

Post by Weasel_King »

I'm in a 10-team 5x5 Roto league and just made a big deal to land Rollins. Here's my roster:

Batters:
C: Bengie Molina
C: Yadier Molina
1B: Albert Pujols
2B: Brandon Phillips
3B: Garret Atkins
SS: Jimmy Rollins
MI: Orlando Hudson
CI: Connor Jackson
OF: Carlos Beltran
OF: Shane Victoriano
OF: Corey Hart
OF: Jay Bruce
OF: Jermaine Dye
U: Elijah Dukes

Reserves:
1B/3B: Casey Blake

Pitchers:
P: Cole Hamels (hoping he's good for opening day)
P: Chad Billingsley
P: Ervin Santana (on bench till he heals)
P: John Danks
P: Matt Garza
P: Jair Jurrjens
p: Matt Capps
p: Brad Ziegler (or Devine)
p: Andy Sonnanstine

Reserves:
p: John Maine
p: Chris Volstad
p: Oliver Perez
p: Joey Devine
p: Chris Ray

So after the trade, I'm a little weak at Utility and CI so I was thinking of maybe trading one of my pitching reserves+ Jackson/Dukes to land a better CI/U man. Let me know what u think of my team and what to do. Make sure to leave a link.

I'd wait before dropping Perez. yes he walks people and never will have a sparkling WHIP, but he should be a fair bet for a sub 4 ERA and a decent number of wins now that the NYM bullpen looks sound.

Drop him to pick up, say, Slowey who promises better rate stats, however I like Perez better than Sonnestine.

I am in several other autopick leagues, but this was the first one where I drafted my players. How do you think I did? Is my outfield good enough or should I make improvements? Who do you think I should trade away to acquire another SP, as there are no good ones on the waiver wire. Thanks everyone in advance

i like your pitching a lot. great depth. volstad has to be in your starting lineup though imo. decent offense obv. could use an upgrade at C and 3B and I think you need more power to compete. find teams that need SP, and shop around your 2nd tier starters to try and get some more power.

I like your offense alot, I feel as though that your SP could be reallllly hit or miss. If Santana doesnt come back alright and same for Hamels you could be in a ton of trouble. Your also lacking in the solid RP department. I like your infield though, it is probably the best of your league Im guessing.

Very solid squad all around. I think your staff could be very good, it's deep with some very interesting names, you just have to hope Santana returns without issue. The offense is solid, top-to bottom a very balanced lineup that may not dominate categories but should hold their own every week.

Good luck!

That is a good looking team, still your ? is still RP, with Capps the only true closer with a job there, but betweem Ziegler, Devine and Ray you should vulture some saves pretty easily

comment on mine, please?

Thanks for helping with mine. This team is very solid overall...do not worry about c-jax or dukes. I think they're both starting worthy. There's nothing wrong with a CI who goes 86-17-75 hitting .295. It's not exciting, and if someone goes crazy you can drop c-jax with no worries. But also remember he's hitting in the middle of a lineup that should be much better than last year. Also, I certainly would not trade Dukes. This is his year...remember when people used to say if it weren't for the makeup he would be a #1 prospect. The talent is just enormous. The two weaknesses I see are Catcher and I think you're a little lite on K's...mostly due to concern about hamels. You don't really have any high K closers and Sonnanstine and jurrgens (who I would try and move) won't contribute there. Does pablo sandoval have catcher elig in your league? If so i would heavily pursue him. Good balance in a very deep lineup...love atkins, and dukes as value picks.

I think you'll be a top 3 team depending on all the fun variables that go along with fantasy baseball.
