Dexter Fowler in 2010 or 2011

I have a gut feeling that he's going to be an absolute beast in a couple years. Good BB and K rates, good batting eye, decent power, good contact, and a blast burner who can sustain a .330+ BABIP and steal a lot of bases. He would be a doubles and triples (and therefore, OPS) monster in spacious Coors, to the effect of 60-70 XBH a year, and in a good offensive lineup that should include Gonzalez, Stewart, Tulo, Iannetta, and maybe Hawpe. Carl Crawford+, anyone?

I have thought the same things about Fowler.

His BB rates are excellent but his K rate is a little iffy for an average to below average power hitter. And he needs to show that '08 wasn't a fluke and have his iso and K rate regress back toward '07. His CS rate is pretty high, but that is something that seems to improve with experience for some speedy guys (sometimes). He also hits a fairly high rate of GB's (not a terrible thing) but it could leave you waiting for his HR power similar to Crawford (also a high GB%).

The Crawford comp is decent except for Fowler will like have more BB's (and OBP) but less SB's (maybe half) unless he becomes more efficient.

He needs some things to happen and force Colo's hand to start him.

Not that big a fan of the comparison. Dexter has much better plate discipline, but lacks the speed and base running of Crawford. Though I can't really come up with a spot on one, Rios + walks is about as close as I get to liking one.
