Matos to have bone scan

Postby Pogotheostrich » Mon Mar 08, 2004 2:25 pm

The Orioles have ordered a bone scan on Luis Matos shin to determine if he has a stress fracture.
The Orioles are sitting him down for 7-10 days with a shin splints. If the bone scan reveals a stress fracture, then Matos would require a month of rest and be doubtful for the season opener. Darnell McDonald and Tim Raines Jr. are centerfielders to replace him, but the team seems likely to move Larry Bigbie over from left.
