The Rays have signed Pat Burrell to a 2 year 16 million deal.

Ehh, its ok. I'm not a fan of Pat but the risk is low so its fine.

That's a nice deal to add a RH, HR hitting, OBP machine to their lineup. Even better that he'll likely be at DH most of the time. Other than a RP, he's the type of guy that would have helped them the most this offseason (of the reasonable options).

I like the signing as he is the perfect DH. I don't think his numbers will get better moving to AL and away from Citizens but still a potent bat.

Great signing. They were very smart to wait, Burrell seems to have been undervalued. I mean how does Raul Ibanez get 14 million more than him?

i like it a lot. he doesn't make outs, he hits HRs and he doesnt have to play defense. great signing for the rays imo.

Yeah that was what I'm thinking. Philly simply got tired of him I think. They don't think that he lived up to his contract. Let me know if I am wrong on this.
