I have been trying to find an Auction League for quite some time and haven't been able to find one that is open. So I've decided to start up my own. I am a commissioner of a Dynasty League that is one year into existence and is running just fine. Please make sure to read all the rules and see if you are interested. If you are, either send me a PM or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
. Here's the message board...http://gggal.proboards.com/index.cgiHere are the rules. Nothing is set in stone but for the most part I feel these are pretty decent rules...
I. Mission Statement
A. To have fun playing fantasy baseball
B. To not compromise the fun of others through bad sportsmanship
II. League FormatA. $25 buy in per season
B. H2H, 6x6 scoring, auction format
C. 12 teams
D. Offensive categories: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS
E. Pitching categories: W, Hld, SV, K, ERA, WHIP
F. Minimum innings pitched needed will be set at 30 IP.
G. All in-season activity conducted via Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball
III. Roster Sizes and Positions
A. 25 man MLB roster
B. 10 man MiLB roster (3 may be added each season to fill the vacancies of those who were brought up)
C. Hitting Positions - C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, UTIL
D. Pitching Positions - SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P
E. Bench Slots - 7
F. 2 DL slots
G. Position eligibility is based on standard Yahoo rules
IV. Minor League Eligibility
A. Standard MLB rookie definition (less than 130AB, less than 50IP)
B. Nippon League (Japan Pro Baseball) players are only eligible for the Prospects draft.
A. trading deadline - TBD
VI. Auction/Salary Format
A. Players may be kept from season to season depending on the salary and years left on the contract. This includes both minor league and major league roster.
VII. Auction Draft
A. Each Team will have $300 to spend on their Major and Minor league teams
B. All bid increments will have a minimum of $1. No cents will be used. Only dollars.
C. Draft will be held in a message board draft. Commish will post 1 player from each position each round to be bid on. (For example: Round 1 will consist of 1 of C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, OF, SP, RP. Round 2 will consist of the same, etc.) Changes will be made by the Commish at his discretion.
D. You will have 24 hours to bid on players each round. Please try to avoid last minute bidding. If this seems to be a problem, there will be a +1 hour rule invoked adding an hour to the end of the draft to be fair.
A. After the draft is done, you will decide on how many years you would like to keep your player at that salary. There will be a limited number of contracts you can give out per year. Here is the breakdown.
5 years - 3
4 years - 4
3 years - 5
2 years - 6
1 year - Unlimited
IX. Salary Cap
A. The Salary Cap will start at $300 and may change at the Commish's discretion in the offseason only.
X. Player Re-Signings
A. When a player's initial contract runs out that player is a restricted free agent. Each team will be allowed to re-sign their players. They may re-sign their player at 1.5x their current contract. If you do not want to pay that much, let him become a free agent and try to sign him for less.
XI. Free Agency - In Season
A. Roster moves may be made daily. But adding players from the free agent pool will be done on a weekly basis. If there is a player you are interested in adding to your roster you must post a request in the message board. Requests must be posted by Friday on any given week. All teams will then have the rest of the week to bid on given player. The highest bidder as of Sunday evening at 7:00PM PST will be the winner and the player will be available for him to pick up on Monday.
XII. Free Agency - Off Season
A. All players that haven't been re-signed by their teams or players who aren't currently on a team will be available in the same message board auction draft. The Commish will pick a given amount of players available at a time to be bid on. Same format as the originial auction draft.
XIII. Buy Out
A. If you wish to drop a player to pick up a new one, a player may be bought out of their contract by paying the player 50% of their entire contract all at once. For example, if Joe Smith is on your roster for $2/4yrs then his total contract is $8. You could drop him immediately if you were willing to pay a $4 hit against your salary cap for the remainder of the current season.
A. In season trades can be reviewed and/or vetoed via the Yahoo system. Off-season trades should be posted on the "Trades for Review" board, and will be reviewed for 1 week before being considered completed.
B. In the event there is sufficient evidence for collusion any veto or trade approval may be canceled by the commissioner, however it is the official policy of this league that trades should stand as long as the trade isn't clearly one-sided.
C. All players, prospects, and may be traded at any point during the season or in the off-season.
XV. MLB vs MiLB Rosters
A. MLB Rosters may include Major or Minor League players. Once a player is brought up to the Majors he may NOT be sent back down. Once he's up, thats it.
B. MiLB Rosters will have a maximum of 10 players. You may add up to 3 players each season in the offseason auction draft. But no more than 10 players will be held on the MiLB roster at any given time.
XVI. Disabled List Replacements (DLR)
A. Any team that has a player on the real life disabled list may bid on a replacement from the free agent pool. Once that player is won instead of declaring a number of contract years the owner would declare the player a DLR. The player's salary would count against the team's salary cap. The player can be dropped at any time simply by posting in the DLR section of the transactions board with no penalty and the salary would no longer count against that team's salary cap. DLR players are not eligible to be re-signed at the end of the season...they are strictly temporary players.
A. Payouts will be determined by the final playoff standings.
B. 1st =$200, 2nd = $75, 3rd = $25
