Jose Reyes on Yahoo...

Postby fezzik » Sat Mar 06, 2004 12:26 am

To whom it may concern, I sent an email to Yahoo about whether they would change Reyes' position eligibility to 2B before the season starts...here's some of what they said (it was actually a pretty long reply):

"If a position player makes 15 appearances at a new position during this
season, he will become eligible to play that position in Yahoo! Sports
Fantasy Baseball."

ya, ya, I knew that already...

"Please note the following conditions that apply to a player's position
eligibility.

1. A player's position eligibility will not be adjusted prior to the
beginning of the season.

2. Players will not lose positional eligibility during the season, even
if they do not appear at the position in 2004.

3. It is not possible to customize this setting within Custom Leagues.
All leagues are subject to the same constraints."

Okay, (1.) basically answers my question....No, Reyes will not be eligible at 2B before the season starts. He will only become eligible after he starts 15 games there... :-t Guess I have to keep two secondbasemen the first couple weeks of the season :,-(

I had Hairston holding the fort until Reyes came of age.....just had to go with Durham in one league and Jimenez in another.....this trade to Texas better not happen!! :-o

im holding polanco as a fill-in in one of my yahoo leagues. it sort of sucks, but its the rules. my team is really deep, and polanco is keeping another good hitter on my bench. :-t

Here is a ROUGH order of 2nd basemen
1. Alfonso Soriano
2. Bret Boone
3. Jeff Kent
4. Luis Castillo
5. Jose Vidro
6. MarcusGiles
7. MichaelYoung
8. D'Angelo Jimenez
9. Ray Durham
10. Placido Polanco

Where do you think it would be smart to fit reyes in here?

Hate to tell you this, but Hairston is out at least a month with a broken finger. That probably means he'd be out the first few games, just when you need him. :-/

It seems to me that alot of people are putting too much faith in Reyes.

A Rookie .. with very liitle MLB AB's
Switching Positions
and a Career .288 minor league hitter, playing 81 games in Shea.
