Just imagine if the Rays had Josh Hamilton this year...... :-°

Those 130 RBI would look pretty good in the middle of that lineup with Carlos Pena. Good luck pitching to that.... ;-D

Also, here in about 1-2 years, the Rays are going to WALK through the playoffs. Aside from the ridiculous amount of young, core talent they already have, they have more prospects on the way up! Geez! Then, when Longoria and these other guys get too expensive, then up comes Tim Beckham.

It would feel good to be a Rays fan right now.

yea last time i was captivated by the WS was back when arizona beat the yankees. all the subsequent WS has been a bit boring, but is there anything that can be done about that? at least the rays and sox went to game 7, that was a bit of drama.

why is it they start the game so damn late? 830 PM EST, WTF? all season games are started at 7ish PM EST, why change that in the playoffs? im sure one excuse could be tv because they want to have the game in prime time.. hello! the game can start at 7 and still be in prime time since its what 3+ hours long. starting a game at 830 your having a large number pf people who wont be able to watch the entire game, anyone young especially since they have to be in bed early for school. its no wonder alot of youth arnt as interested in baseball.

the season goes on too long. i heard next season with the WBC the season will be even longer and the playoffs will go into November. thats ridiculous. the season should be started in mid/late March with a majority of the games being played in warm weather cities. every team will still get the same number of home games, the warmer weather cities just get the early season games. im not saying have colder weather cities play long stretches on the road, but 2-3 weeks? baseball could also actually schedule double headers for weekend games. they could have early games at 1 PM EST and then another night game at 7 PM EST.

Sorry to say, but I doubt it. It's just the parity we have today. The same thing that makes the regular season so captivating makes the postseason boring. I really don't think the Phillies and the Rays were the two most talented teams in baseball this year, and there were little story lines to report. (A dodgers/red sox series, on the other hand....manny vs red sox?...)

As for the starting times of the World Series, I couldn't agree more. I live on Eastern time, and these games aren't ending until close to if not after midnight. Baseball is a kids game, and these kids don't get to stay up and watch/cheer on their favorite teams because of the start time. Something needs to be done. And whats up with games starting at 4:00? Thats one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.

I thought this series was well played by both sides, with the Philles just having the better week. Their pitchers were ON, while the Rays' pitchers were just OK.

The weather messed up the momentum/drama of the series, IMO.

My kids had to go to bed before the games even started, though I let them sneak out and check the score. That bit, especially for the weekend games. :-)
Be excellent to each other.

I thought the Giants/Angels series the following year was interesting, especially the Game 6 collapse, and really there hasn't been a better WS since then. Too bad everyone outside of California missed it. ;-7

Much has been written about the decline in the World Series and I think it's due to factors beyond the game's scope, I'd say. Personally, I'd only tune in if by a minor miracle the Dodgers are somehow in the Series or if the World Series was grand enough for me to watch it. Otherwise, baseball is background noise for the upcoming NBA season.
