(I’ve started one league this year, now here’s a go at another….)
Want to be in an NL-only rotisserie auction but can't find the 10-16 hour block of time in your schedule? Why wait for April to start drafting? Join our E-MAIL AUCTION LEAGUE.
The entry fee is $200. This league is for serious players, not boys.
Here's how it works: we will bid on twelve players at a time, once per day. You will send in bids for any/all the players you care to. If you don’t have room on your roster for a player, then don’t bid on him. A player will go to the team with the highest bid, but his salary will be the amount of the second highest bid plus $1. In the event of a tie, the player will go to the owner who mailed his bid first at that price. This will simulate a live auction. The commissioner will e-mail his bids in a password-protected file to the rest of the league when he announces who is up for auction. Then, after the results are announced, he will reveal his password so there can be no charge of bias. (In another thread, somebody asked “what if a guy bids $100 every time in order to always win?”--- that’s fine, but if TWO owners get that idea, somebody is going to lose a huge portion of their budget, not to mention pissing away $200).
This will be a NON-KEEPER LEAGUE, so you don’t have to worry about minor league prospects and all of that. Everybody will be on the same footing at the beginning of each year.
Rules and/or references of guys that have been in leagues with me are available upon request. We will start as soon as we have 12 owners on board. If interested, e-mail me at: mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
