Wagner headed to the DL

Postby rocky123 » Tue Aug 05, 2008 5:29 pm

The Mets are planning on placing Billy Wagner on the disabled list with a strained left forearm.
They're trying to spin it as good news after an MRI showed no elbow damage, but the pain is obviously pretty close to the elbow and it's bad enough to put Wagner on the DL when he's been pitching through various ailments all year. Duaner Sanchez, Pedro Feliciano, Scott Schoeneweis, Aaron Heilman and maybe even Eddie Kunz will be candidates for saves with Wagner out. Sanchez is likely the best bet.

News: The New York Daily News reports that an MRI on injured Mets closer Billy Wagner revealed a strained forearm. Wagner has been placed on the 15-day DL and Ruddy Lugo will be called up from Triple-A to replace Wagner in the bullpen.
Finally The Rock has come New York City!!

Anyone have thoughts on what Wagner's chances of returning effectively in September for fantasy playoffs are?
