I remember that crappy song, but I never saw the video until just now. It is amazing. Almost makes up for the song. The brief popularity in the late-90s and early-2000s of all these nu-rock/rap douche bags is quite possibly the worst thing to happen to music ever. But you can't deny the greatness of a bunch of shirtless idiots pretending to be cool while standing in a butterfly filled field and singing "you're my butterfly. Sugar. Baby."
That Friday song is horrible, easily worse than everything found on any current top-40 list, but it gets a pass for two reasons: 1. it's a 14-year-old girl. And 2. it's not a real song. It's not as if some major label was pushing that out as a hit or anyone is listening to it for anything other than shock/camp value. Some rich dude paid a bunch of money so his daughter could pretend to be talented for a little while. It was probably either this or buy her a BMW for her 15th birthday.
