A friend of mine started a site called The Tools Of Ignorance
and has created an interesting variation of fantasy baseball called Barnstorming. We are looking for more teams, so if you are interested, here is how the game works.
When you create a team, you get a random selection of player seasons. For example, I have 1997 Tim Salmon, 1993 Kevin Stocker, 1982 Jim Rice, 1960 Don Drysdale, etc. You then take your team around the country, Barnstorming if you will. As you visit towns, more and more become fans of your team. If a town is already a fan of another team, then you can challenge that team to a game and the winner gets the town's fans. If you successfully defend a town, you gain credits which you can use to replace players and improve your team. It is 100% free so give it a try. Since you can visit any town in the US, there's plenty of room for more teams and the game gets better as the variety of teams improves.
As you tour the country, you may find free credits, classic baseball teams that want to play an exhibition game, or hidden sites and curses which can raise or lower your team level. Your team level determines how many moves & miles you can go each day as well as how easy it is to win over town's fans without playing a game. The lower the level the harder it is win over large towns so start small in the beginning. There are also frequent tournaments were you enter your team by visiting the location of the tournament before all of the slots are filled.
Here are the complete faqs
but it isn't very complicated.
