I'm sitting at 3rd place in my Y! public 5x5 roto league with 74.5 points. 6 weeks ago, I was in 11th out of 12. Since then, I was then able to pull a huge trade for Josh Hamilton and Prince Fielder and pick up Ryan, Pence, and Volquez off waivers. The leader currently has 103.5 points.

It should be noted that he's on pace to finish 7 ip over the limit while I'm on pace to finish 75 ip UNDER the limit. I have 5 and 7 points in wins and Ks, respectively. So, I should be able to make up several points in those simply due to my team having the lowest IP so far. Do you think I can make up the 29 points between us over the next 3 1/2 months? If not, what do I need to do (other than find a better SS option)? Thanks for your input.

He's got a lot better set of consistent power hitters than you do. I would ride guzman out until he cools down. Berkman's PROBABLY going to cool off in the second half of the season. It's not very common that someone has a career season this late in his career. I would look into getting a better power 3b, and possibly trading one of your RPs depending on how far ahead you are in RP stats in your league.

Difficult to drag back a lead that big especially in a league where half the managers give up in June. It is imperative you use plenty of SP's to make yp your lack of innings pitched. You need to start spot starting as well as upgrade 3B and SS. Guzman is a terrible option and should be traded if possible in a package with one of your closers. Look at the team that need saves and work a trade to upgrade SS.
Reynolds isn't a long term option either, nor is Kershaw who if you can't trade then drop and use his space to spot start most days to catch up innings lost.

I'd sell high on Guzman and Pence, package them together and try to improve SS. Move Holliday to U/OF. If you can't find a suitor for a SS, try and sell Pence and Billingsley or Kershaw and try to get a top 50 pitcher.
