2 part question ...

(1) the true save man...besides the top tier, who's actual listed relievers going into the season do you see as a decent pickup...

(i left out the for sure good & bad and have the newbies, well graves isnt 'so' newbie but how do you rank the expectation out of these 4...)

(2) the middle/set up man ...who emerges as the santana this year...

i know mota is still a prob a top 5 but who in your books do you see getting alot of k's and keeping one of the best era/whips as set up...

thanks ;-D

1) a lower tier closer - out of the guys u mentioned, i say rhodes. but also kolb will be pretty nice this year.

2) raphael soriano without question. but who knows where they will put him - he might end up starting at some point. yeah he is injured now but will be back - hes young and healthy. hawkins will be good this year too. lidge from the astros looks good also.

Soriano said that he doesn't want to start. So unless the mariners are desparate for an emergency starter I don't see Soriano starting.

I forget where I read this, but it was a Quote, not just someone speculating. I saw it over a week ago, but I'll see if I can dig up the link.

rhodes, and k-rod is always a nice middle reliever with a great k/ip ratio
