Too early to panic? WHIR

Postby malmstorm » Sat May 10, 2008 12:38 pm

I started the season well, but have been slowly slipping and am now in 8th out of 9 teams. On paper, my team should be better than this. I'm trying to make a deal for another closer, but otherwise my pitching is killing me. Hang tight or maybe try to land a consistant ace?

9 team, roto. Cats are:
OPS, Hits, Runs, RBI, Steals, HRs
Wins, Saves, Quality Starts, Ks, Holds, ERA

C- B McCann
1B- M Teixeira
2B- P Polanco
SS- M Young
3B- D Wright
OF- J Francoeur, N Markakis, A Rios, N McLouth, J Pierre
UT- T Helton
UT- D Ortiz

P- M Cain
P- J Chamberlain
P- F Hernandez
P- D McGowan
P- S Olsen (picked up this week off waivers)
P- M Rivera
P- J Saunders (picked up this week off waivers)
P- C Zambrano

Bench: R Ibanez
Bench: R Johnson, G Floyd, T Lilly, B Myers
DL: J Smoltz

You need a staff ace. I can't tell you what deal to make without knowing what the rest of the league rosters look like, but your best starters are inconsistent. You need a guy that you can depend on to go out there and give you a good performance 30 out of 32 starts. You don't have that right now.

As still-hate stated, you do need to try to land one consistent ace. If you are looking for a waiver wire closer, check out Ryan Franklin. He or Chris Perez should take over the closers role in STL with Izzy out.
