Just wondering what everyones favorite moment is during a baseball game. I don't mean Specific moments like Hollidays slide into homeplate.

My favorite is when I get to see someones first major league hit.

free baseball.

that and sunny day games when I skip out on work and go for $5 tickets against a very bad team in the way top of Shea... the round-trip subway ride costs nearly as much as my ticket!

(Damn that new Shea ticket prices!)

I'm a sucker for defense. I love to see an outfielder make a diving catch or a shortstop make a play deep in the hole. The only reason I watch ESPN Sportcenter is for the WebGems top 10 plays of the day (which they seem to have whittled down to the top 5 lately).

A great pitching duel. I got to watch Peavy vs. Webb behind home plate this year. Awesome.

BusinessPerson's Special at Citizens Bank Park. Mets fan, but nothing like leaving work at noon, taking the Broad Street Line down to the stadium, having a few beers, and eating a Schmitter with some crab fries from Chickie and Pete's.
Favorite moment is that anticipation of getting in there and seeing the first pitch. Baseball is so great.

Now if only I worked that close to Shea...

This is going to sound hoakey.
Walking up the ramp, towards the seats, at Wrigley. I've gone to dozens of Cubs games, but the first glimpse of the field and scoreboard and all of the surroundings, is still pretty awesome to me. It makes you feel like a little kid every time.

I grew up with announcer Vin Scully in L.A. and I just love how he has the uncanny knack of saving a GREAT story about a hitter late in ballgames.

A friend of mine said about a week ago that what he likes is when you can't tell whether the announcers are doing a product plug or just meandering about their week..... "So, I was heading to the grocery store yesterday and I got a flat so I had to go to Firestone to get a replacement...." :-b
