Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - Kansas City Royals pitcher Kyle Snyder underwent season-ending surgery to fix torn cartilage in his right shoulder on Wednesday.
Snyder made his major league debut last season, finishing the 2003 campaign with a 1-6 record and a 5.17 ERA in 15 starts.
The seventh overall pick in the 1999 amateur draft, Snyder has had four operations since 2000. He has had his elbow operated on twice and underwent arthroscopic surgery on the same shoulder in September.
Snyder, whose arm will be in a sling for about three weeks, is expected to be able to begin soft tossing a ball in four months.
