Sheffield. He will knock in 125 runs by accident. His OBP will also yield well over 100 runs due to hitters like Posada, Bernie, and Matsui hitting behind him. Torre will give him some days off to stay fresh but I think he will have a monster year.
Man if Maggs was going to play like he did in 01, and 02, I would have to say him. Last season he had more at bats than 01, 02, but his HR's and RBI's were way down even with a .317AVG. I think his career years were 01, 02, and with Sheffield in that awesome Yankees lineup I expect a great and possibly career year from Sheff. So my vote goes to Sheff.
Both will have good years, I have Sheff rated a little higher than Maggs. Maggs will drop a little further in drafts (maybe a half-round to a full round behind Sheff) which makes Maggs a little better value pick IMO. If there is a chance you can grab someone else in the first and land Maggs in the second, you'll be in good shape. But this all depends on draft position, league size, etc. But if it is just a straight up choice between the two, I would go with Sheff.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis
Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!
