14 team mixed league team after pickups please rate.WHIR

Postby shoelessjoetara » Thu May 01, 2008 3:10 am

This is my team after a month with a few pickups and improvements. I am currently in 2nd place. We cannot make trades so the only improvements I can make come from the WW. The team that is in front of me is benefiting from a bunch of overachieving pitchers (Danks, Lannan,Redding,Piniero) ,so I think in time things will even out. I think his offense is a tad better than mine but not by much considering Ortiz and Adam Laroche have struggled so far. A few questions I would like answered are how does my team look overall? Does it look like a championship caliber team? Is my offense good enough? I do expect Laroche to start hitting eventually. And, How does my pitching staff look? Thanks and leave a link.

Your pitching looks solid, hitting could use some help.

Have you looked on the WW for pitchers? I grabbed Gaudin about a week ago, because people just get very impatient with pitching. He seems to be back to form now.

I think you need more pitching work than you do hitting which is good because you can make match up starts.

Just be looking around at favorable match ups for pitchers and grab them for a week, then ditch them if that's what you want.

How come your league doesn't allow trades? That's part of the fun! You should tell them to switch that. Good work grabbing Dice K and Zack G... they both appear like they will have great years and I'm sure you got good value on them.

Here is mine.

I like this team. For a 14 team league you ended up with some nice players. Your pitching could need some improvement, but Myers should come around soon.
